Description
ForEverly Brothers consists of the very talented singing duo Marcel Hufnagel and Harold Verwoert, who together aim to keep the musical legacy of the legendary Everly Brothers alive.Marcel Hufnagel (02-03-1969) already scored a Dutch-language top-10 hit at the age of 14 and began his long career at the age of 17 as a professional lead singer and drummer in the successful band Clockhouse at the time. Marcel has made four classic albums, of which 450,000 copies have been sold worldwide. Due to his international successes, he came into contact with the repertoire of The Everly Brothers. As an interpreter of Phil Everly in a grand theater show with a live band in the Dutch theaters, the love for the music of The Everly Brothers grew further.
Harold Verwoert (15-01-1968) went to study classical singing at the Conservatory in Groningen after high school. During his military service he auditioned for the theater show “Jeans!”, Where he subsequently started working as a singer / dancer and became vocal coach for some 700 performances later. In addition to a career as a producer of TV programs, he remains successful as a singer. As ‘Coole Piet’, later Diego, he has more than 80 Sinterklaas songs to his name. He writes songs on commission, produces various singing projects and has his own project studio where he records and sings backing vocals. Harold grew up with the music of The Everly Brothers from an early age.
Golden Oldies
Hits like; Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Suzie, All I Have To Do Is Dream, Claudette, Bird Dog, Devoted To You, Problems, Take A Message To Mary, (Til) I Kissed You, Cathy’s Clown, Walk Right Back and Ebony Eyes all have achieved the status ‘Golden Record’ and are indispensable in our music history. With their Tribute Act, Marcel and Harold want to continue the legend. With great respect to the original artists and songs, they consider it an honor to introduce a new generation to this music.
Future Music
The enthusiastic duo entered into a collaboration with record label Toekomst Music at the end of last year. With this they hope to put ‘Foreverly Brothers’ further on the ‘musical’ map. Their passion for The Everly Brothers brings Marcel and Harold together. As with the American singing duo, the two friends love the harmonious vocals and both play the guitar. As ForEverly Brothers, they love to perform the successful hits from the 50s and 60s by the famous brothers Don and Phil Everly. The repertoire of successful country and rock and roll songs are stylishly presented by Marcel and Harold in a 40-minute show. At home and abroad they take old and new fans ‘down memory lane’.
All Together Now
In January 2020 the duo will take part in the successful TV program All Together Now. They come out as the winner of the competition and, in collaboration with producer John Dirne of the White Villa Studios, launch the song ‘Bye Bye Love’, released under record label Toekomst Music. The original was written by Boudleaux Bryan / Felice Bryant and performed by The Everly Brothers in 1957. With this success on national television, notes from The Everly Brothers will hopefully resonate long into the future.
